On Saturday, the Vancouver Canucks took to the ice for practice before beginning a three-game road trip, but there was a notable absence - defenceman Tyler Myers.
After practice, the team announced that Tyler Myers would be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, which led to the recall of Matt Irwin from the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks.
Fans were worried what this could mean for Myers' status for the remainder of the 2023-24 season and potentially the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but they can breathe a little easier on Monday as Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman shared a positive update.
Myers, 34, has appeared in 62 games this season for the Canucks, putting up 23 points (four goals, 19 assists), 63 penalty minutes and is a plus-12. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
