LATEST | Patrik Allvin finally reveals his deadline strategy: It explains everything
The Vancouver Canucks sit a single point back of the first-place Florida Panthers. They currently lead the Western Conference by two points over the Dallas Stars and the Pacific Division by a whopping 11 points.
Patrik Allvin has built a true contending team, making big moves this season alone, such as acquiring Elias Lindholm and finally locking up franchise cornerstone Elias Pettersson long-term. It's the balance of today's Vancouver #Canucks, and next year's and the following years Vancouver Canucks. This is a process we started two years ago. We're not finished. We're not satisfied.
The Canucks made a deep playoff run in the summer of 2020, falling to the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. The team has missed the playoffs since, but Allvin has put together a strong squad ready to compete in just a short two years. The GM appears eager to contend and win with the team he has built and hopes to continue doing so well into the future.
