Following the Canucks' announcement on their superstar Elias Pettersson, the team was back at practice before heading out to Anaheim for tomorrow's tilt against the Ducks.

IT'S CONFIRMED FOR MYERS

One absence stung out, as Rick Tocchet confirmed in his traditional post-practice interview that Tyler Myers had gotten injured during the game against the Kings and would be out week-to-week.

The #Canucks will be without D Tyler Myers for at least a week due to a lower-body injury. Rick Tocchet says he's out week-to-week.

THE OPPORTUNITY THE CANUCKS NEEDED?

The last time a player was ''week-to-week'' in Vancouver was Carson Soucy. The Canucks later moved him to the long-term injury reserve. If Myers were to be absent for a more extended period, the Canucks could move him to the LTIR and benefit from an additional $6M on the cap.

The $6M cap hit they'd be gaining also winds up being Jake Guentzel's exact cap hit. While there have not yet been any official connections between the two, the salary cap was the Canucks' main problem in regards to acquiring Guentzel.

With over six weeks on the regular season's calendar, Allvin could use the Lightning's strategy very well.
