LATEST | The meeting point for Filip Hronek's next deal revealed: Reasonable enough for the Canucks?
A Filip Hronek contract is next on Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford's to-do list.
The 26 year old defenceman is having a breakout season in his first full year with the Canucks, on pace for close to 60 points and playing almost 24 minutes a game.
As a top pair, right shooting defenceman entering his prime - Hronek is poised for a massive raise from the $4.4 million he currently earns.
The Canucks want to be careful not to overspend, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said on the Donnie and Dhali show that he thinks the Canucks know what they're comfortable paying Hronek.
While he's cooled off from his hot start, Hronek has been a solid top pair defenceman for the team this season.
Vancouver would probably like to sign him to a deal that resembles that of Devon Toews in Colorado, however Hronek may point to his age and handedness as reasons to pay him more.
If Friedman is to be believed, Hronek's stay in Vancouver could be short lived if he is set on breaking the bank this summer.
