The Vancouver Canucks face off against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday night. Vancouver, in the midst of their worst stretch of the season and seeing their title of first place in the NHL slip away, will dress forward Vasily Podkolzin on the third line alongside Elias Lindholm and Conor Garland.

Podkolzin, 22, has yet to suit up in a Vancouver uniform this season. He has 28 points in 44 games with the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks. He scored 26 points in 79 games as a rookie in 2021-22, but has failed to replicate those numbers since and has spent the majority of his time in the AHL.

The Russian forward was drafted 10th overall in 2019, in the same draft that saw the likes of Cam York, Matt Boldy, Cole Caufield, Alex Newhook and Thomas Harley drafted among several of the following picks.
