Manny Malhotra's son Caleb, who spent the 2024-25 season in the BCHL, has made a big decision on where he'll be suiting up this fall for the 2025-26 campaign.

The last year has been great for the Malhotra family as Manny is currently one win away coaching the Abbotsford Canucks to the Calder Cup Final, while his son Caleb is coming off a solid rookie campaign for the BCHL's Chilliwack Chiefs.
Caleb Malhotra is currently currently committed to Boston University for the 2026-27 season and with the new NCAA-CHL agreement, many were wondering where the 17-year-old would be playing next season.

Caleb Malhotra makes big decision on where he'll play during the 2025-26 season

While the team has yet to make things officially at of Thursday morning, National Hockey League insider Jeff Marek shared on social media that Caleb Malhotra has signed a Standard Player Agreement with the Ontario Hockey League's Brantford Bulldogs for the 2025-26 campaign.
"OHL News - The Brantford Bulldogs have signed forward Caleb Malhotra (Manny's son).

Eligible for the 2026 NHL draft, Caleb played in the BCHL last season with Chilliwack." Marek said.
Malhotra, a native of Toronto, Ontario, was drafted into the Ontario Hockey League by the Kingston Frotenacs in 2024, who took him eighth overall, but a month after he announced his NCAA commitment, the team traded his playing rights to Brantford in exchange for five draft picks, three of which were conditional.
"Caleb brings a wide array of tools to the ice. Able to deploy equally effectively in a scoring or checking role, Malhotra's hockey intelligence stands atop his long list of talents. A sixth sense of timing on the ice makes Malhotra an elite playmaker, able to open up passing lanes and create offensive opportunities for his teammates and himself." the Bulldogs said last September.

This season, Malhotra registered 26 points (eight goals, 18 assists) in 44 regular season games and followed that up with 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in 21 playoff games, helping Chilliwack reach the BCHL championship series where they lost to the Brooks Bandits.
The 2025-26 season should be a big one for the Brantford Bulldogs, not just because Caleb Malhotra is joining the team, but their General Manager Spencer Hyman managed to acquire Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Sam McCue from Flint this week and signed University of Michigan commit Cooper Dennis.
