The Vancouver Canucks season has gotten off the rails in large part due to injuries, and the end of the season looks to be no different as the team prepares to face the Anaheim Ducks.

While some injured players have started to inch closer to a return, there is no shortage of injured players on the Canucks roster.

Vancouver Canucks playoff hopes dwindling as injuries pile up

The Vancouver Canucks will play their 76th game of the season on Saturday afternoon as the Anaheim Ducks come to town for an afternoon game.
With 81 points on the year, the Canucks are now 8 points out of a wild card spot and while they do hold two games in hand on both the Blues and the Wild, they would also have to leapfrog the Calgary Flames to get in.
A large part of the team's struggles this season have been due to injuries, and that's no different late in the season as the Canucks are expected to ice a lineup filled with players who have spent much of the season in the AHL with Abbotsford.
Elias Pettersson, Filip Chytil, Nils Höglander, Nils Åman, and Tyler Myers are all unavailable due to injury.
The Canucks have lost the 8th most games to injury this season and have had to contend with injuries to key players like Quinn Hughes, Thatcher Demko, and once again Elias Pettersson.
Today's matchup is a must win if the Vancouver Canucks want to keep any sliver of hope alive of making the playoffs.
