The Vancouver Canucks have made a roster move ahead of Saturday's game vs the Anaheim Ducks amid injury issues to their National Hockey League roster.
On Friday, the Vancouver Canucks were dealt another blow to their roster after Nils Aman left practice following a scary incident which saw him go head-first into the boards.
With Nils Aman out for Saturday's game, along with Elias Pettersson, Nils Hoglander and Filip Chytil, the Vancouver Canucks were in need of someone from the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks and it looks like help has arrived.
Vancouver Canucks call up forward from AHL's Abbotsford Canucks
With just a few hours to go until puck drop at Rogers Arena this afternoon, Jeff Paterson of Rink Wide: Vancouver is reporting that forward Max Sasson is on the Vancouver Canucks roster and it looks like he'll be in the lineup today.
"Max Sasson showing on #Canucks #NHL roster this morning. Looks like he'll get a shot this afternoon vs Anaheim." Paterson said on X.
Sasson, 24, made his National Hockey League debut with the Vancouver Canucks earlier this season and scored his first career goal in his tenth game with the big club.
The Birmingham, Michigan native has appeared in 24 games for Vancouver where he's put up six points (two goals, four assists) and is a plus-three.
It's unclear where Max Sasson will slot into today's lineup, but it could be on the third line with top prospect Jonathan Lekkerimaki and Linus Karlsson, which is the spot that was occupied by Nils Aman during Wednesday's game against Seattle.
The Canucks are hoping that Sasson can help give them a big more energy in the bottom-six as they look to snap a three-game losing streak and keep their Stanley Cup Playoff hopes alive.
Puck drop for today's game against the Anaheim Ducks is set for 1 pm PT on Sportsnet Pacific.
