New Vancouver Canucks goalie and second-round draft pick Alexei Medvedev had some strong comments to the fans, telling them who he is is and what he is most excited about joining his new team.

After an eventful two straight days of drafting at the 2025 NHL Entry Draft in Los Angeles, California, the Vancouver Canucks came away with some pretty big names, especially after the constant reports that they were trying to trade their 15th overall pick.
With all that being said, Patrik Allvin came away looking pretty good by drafting 2-way forward and and true born leader in Braeden Cootes in the first-round.

Canucks Second Round Draft Pick Has Some Strong comments for the fans of Vancouver

In the second round round, 47th overall, the Vancouver Canucks selected Russian goaltender Aleksei Medvedev of the OHL and Memorial Cup champion London Knights.
Medvedev, a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, appeared in 34 games this past season for the Knights where he had a record of 22-8-2 along with a 2.79 goals against average, a .912 save percentage and three shutouts.

After being drafted, he made sure to make it known that he is not down growing and that his style of play well fit perfectly with his new team, evengoing as far to have full confidence in himself that as a Memorial Cup winner with the London Knights, he has no doubt that he
"I feel like I'm just a structured goalie. I use my athleticism well and I'm a winner too."

He did back off to say that he has a lot to learn and He went further to say that he cannot wait to be around solidified star goalies like Thatcher Demko and Kevin Lankinen to show him the ropes.
"Learning from Thatcher Demko and Kevin Lankinen," says second round pick Aleksei Medvedev about who on the #Canucks he's most excited to play with.
At just 17 years old, he still has a long road ahead of him until he dawns the Canucks jersey as a full time NHLer, but by the sound of his comments, he has full confidence in himself that he will be the next big thing in between the pipes for Vancouver.
