Former Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller is continuing to struggle in a big way during his first season wearing the 'C' for the New York Rangers.
It's been a frustrating start to their Centennial season as the New York Rangers, despite being tied for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, have dropped their last two games and have won just one of nine home games this year.
After making some big changes in the offseason, most notably trading Chris Kreider to the Anaheim Ducks and K'Andre Miller to the Carolina Hurricanes, the New York Rangers were hoping that things would turn around after missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs back in the spring.
So far, that hasn't happened and with J.T. Miller being named their 29th captain in franchise history before the season began, there was a ton of expectation and pressure placed on him to deliver and unfortunately for the Rangers, he hasn't stepped up in the way they were hoping he would.

In 21 games this season, the East Palestine, Ohio native has just four goals and ten points, picking up an assist during last night's 3-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.
To put J.T. Miller's tough start to the 2025-26 season in perspective, seven players on the Vancouver Canucks have registered more points than him to start the new campaign, while another two are tied with him at the 10-point mark.
"His surprisingly low offensive output means that currently, nine Canucks players (or half of their active roster) have more points than Miller so far this season.

With Elias Pettersson starting to come around of late, registering eight points in his last four games including three goals, some believe that the Vancouver Canucks made the right decision by keeping him and trading J.T. Miller to the Rangers and so far, that's proving to be true, however there's still a long way to go in the 2025-26 campaign and a lot can change before the regular season concludes in April.
