The National Hockey League celebrated the best of the 2023-24 season on Thursday night and among those nominated for awards were Quinn Hughes and Thatcher Demko.
Quinn Hughes took home the Norris Trophy as the league's best defenceman for the first time in his career, while Thatcher Demko finished second in voting for the Vezina Trophy behind
Connor Hellebuyck.
While the awards show was going on, the National Hockey League used this as an opportunity to announce their first and second all-star teams for the 2023-24 campaign and among those included were the aforementioned Quinn Hughes and Thatcher Demko.
The Orlando, Florida native finished the season with 92 points (17 goals, 75 assists), 38 penalty minutes and was a plus-38 in 81 regular season games and followed that up with ten assists in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff contests.
Demko, 28, appeared in 51 games for the Canucks this season where he had a record of 35-14-2, with a 2.45 goals against average, a .918 save percentage and five shutouts.
It was a great season for the Vancouver Canucks duo and everyone is looking forward to seeing what they'll be able to do during the 2024-25 campaign.
