The Vancouver Canucks reportedly won't face any tampering charges from the NHL following comments made by Jim Rutherford during Monday's press conference with reporters.

On Monday when speaking with the media for management's end-of-season presser, Vancouver Canucks President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford opened some eyes when commenting on Quinn Hughes wanting to play with his brothers.
Rutherford said that Hughes has expressed his desire to one day play with his brothers and said that's something out of the team's control, unless they were to trade for them, before quickly stopping himself and saying he won't add anymore to that to avoid tampering charges from the league.

NHL reportedly won't be issuing fine to the Vancouver Canucks

Many were wondering if the NHL would issue tampering charges and it looks like we have our answer following a social media post on Tuesday from Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali.
According to Rick Dhaliwal, he's been told that the National Hockey League will not be looking at issuing tampering charges to the Canucks in regards to Jim Rutherford's comments.
"I have been told the NHL is not looking at any tampering charges against the #Canucks regarding Jim Rutherford's comments yesterday about the Hughes brothers in New Jersey." Dhaliwal said.
As Jim Rutherford said before talking about the Hughes brothers, it might not come down to money with their captain Quinn Hughes whenever they decide to discuss a contract extension.
One important factor in contract talks, one would assume, is how competitive the Vancouver Canucks are in the next couple of years and if Quinn Hughes has a legit chance of winning a Stanley Cup if he were to sign a long-term extension.
The Canucks have some good pieces on their roster right now and a few in their prospect pool too, but in order for them to get over that hump and be a contender on a yearly basis, they'll need to add a couple pieces via free agency or trade and hope that they can avoid significant injuries in the coming years.
