Oilers deposit an official complaint on the Canucks' fans
The Canucks and Oilers shared one of the most emotional series we've seen this year; an exclusive Canadian team matchup can heat up rather quickly.
Fans fought, players fought, shots were taken, and players hit on their benches, but only the Canucks had the green men on their side. The Green Men have been legends in Vancouver since they first re-appeared in February 2024.
The green men made an impromptu stop at Rogers Arena for game one of the second round, leaving the Oilers terrified.
Known for his off-ice problem, the Green Men scorched the Oilers'
Evander Kane as soon as the opportunity presented itself:
"Evander What's the parlay tonight?" read a sign that got camera time on Hockey Night in Canada.
The Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal brought up the news that, following the Oilers' complaint, the green men had been prevented from assisting further playoff games:
"We were told the Edmonton Oilers complained to the NHL in the last round about the Green Men because the Green Men had an Evander Kane sign about gambling," Dhaliwal said on Thursday's edition of Donnie and Dhali. "The Green Men were then told you couldn't go to any more games in Round 2, maybe in Round 3."
Historically, the NHL had never been known to intervene in this situation. It last occurred in 2011 when a team complained about Sully and Force, who were told to stop doing handstands and touching the glass.
