Patrik Allvin confirms the addition of a twenty goal scorer for the Canucks
Plenty of rumours in the last few days suggested Patrik Allvin wasn't done adding to his line-up. The team's announcement confirms it all.
Rick Dhaliwal broke the news yesterday that the Canucks were very interested in signing the free agent and scoring winger Daniel Sprong. Patrik Allvin finally confirmed Dhali's information and announced that Sprong and the Canucks had agreed to a contract:
General Manager Patrik Allvin announces that the #Canucks have agreed to terms with forward Daniel Sprong on a one-year contract
The Canucks may have made this year's steal on the market. According to AFP Analytics, Sprong would've been looking at a contract in the 3 x $4M. On the contrary, the Canucks managed to lock a winger with top-six potential to under $1M:
The #Canucks are signing UFA F Daniel Sprong to 1 year $975K Deal

Sprong had 18 goals and 43 points with the Red Wings in 2023-2024 but was coming off a career-best 21 goals and 46 points in 66 games with the Kraken in 2022-2023. There's still a lot of unexplored potential there; if the Canucks manage to unlock it, they may have made this year's best signing.
