Zeev Biuum made his debut for the Vancouver Canucks after being traded by the Minnesota Wild as part of the Quinn Hughes trade, the 20 year old defensemen was the star of the show as they defeated the New Jersey Devils 2-1.

Biuum scored a goal and recorded an assist, in what was a hard fought win for the Canucks.
"Vancouver received a healthy return of Marco Rossi, Zeev Biuum, Liam Ohmgren and a first round pick. It's still too early to tell if these young players will end up being good enough to justify the trade."-Stinson

Zeev Biuum proves why he was worth the trade for the Vancouver Canucks.

The TSN staff reported on the game recap for the Canucks, in what was a memorable night for Biuum, assisting on the go ahead goal, and then scoring the game winner. Biuum will take a few years to fully show everyone what he can do at only 20 years old, he needs time to develop, but all signs point to him becoming an elite defensemen.
"The game was initially supposed to be Quinn Hughes and the Canucks against brothers Jack and Luke, after plenty of buzz about them wanting to play together in the NHL someday. Instead, Quinn was traded to Minnesota in a blockbuster move Friday night, and Jack remains out of the lineup after having finger surgery in November. Buium was part of the return from the Wild, along with center Marco Rossi, who returned after missing a month because of injury. Buium also had an assist."-TSN

Liam Ohmgren also made his debut for the Canucks, but what was quite quiet in his first game, Jake Debrusk opened the scoring with only 61 seconds into the first period. And this loss adds on to the struggles of the Devils.
"Markstrom allowed two goals in the first period on eight shots, then was perfect the rest of the way, finishing with 13 saves. The Canucks put only one shot on net in the third. Luke Hughes scored the only goal of the game for the Devils, who were playing for a third time in four days. They've lost 10 of 16 games since Jack Hughes was injured during a team dinner in Chicago."-TSN

The Canucks will now turn their attention to the New York Rangers for the second game of their 5 game Eastern Conference road trip. Hopefully the other two additions can make their mark along the way like Biuum has in his debut.
