The Canucks have been without their trade deadline high-end acquisition Elias Lindholm for some time now. The absence of progress has raised concern amongst the fans, but Rick Tocchet gave a reassuring update today.

The Canucks' Head Coach stated yesterday that even though Lindholm hadn't been participating in the team's practices, the Swede had started skating by himself. The Canucks are preparing a weeklong road trip where they'll be stopping in Vegas, Arizona and Los Angeles, and Tocchet confirmed that Lindholm would be travelling with the team.

Along the lines of upcoming roster changes, Tocchet added that Zadorov would be coming back into the lineup, but the identity of the next scratch had not yet been determined:

Nikita Zadorov will draw back into the lineup vs Vegas tomorrow. He says he hasn't decided on who
will be coming out.

Tocchet also says Elias Lindholm will be making the trip.

The fact that Lindholm is participating in this trip indicates that the Swede is nearing a return. Will he play in one of those games? His progress over the next few days will determine when he can return. The team is hopeful he'll return at 100% and that he will play up to the level they expected from him when they gave nothing less than five assets to acquire his services.

With seven NHL defensemen, Tocchet has the luxury of giving certain defensemen the night off. Cole already had two games last week; the game against the Ducks was Zadorov's turn. Will Tyler Myers be the next Defenseman to sit?
