Rick Tocchet has been starting Arturs Silovs in the Canucks' net ever since Thatcher Demko and Casey DeSmith went down with injuries, by the looks of it, it isn't about to change.

With the Canucks ahead 3-2 in this second-round series, Tocchet gave the verdict on Thatcher Demko ahead of game six. The netminder is still recovering from a lower-body injury, and Rick Tocchet told Sportsnet's Brendan Batchelor that it would be a stretch to see the goalie in game action this weekend.

There could be reason for optimism, however, as Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reported on the Sekeres and Price show that everything is "very positive" with Demko, and although he doesn't see him playing Saturday, it could happen soon.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him at the team's morning skate on the ice, at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Saturday... if there is a Game 7, there's a very real possibility that we see Thatcher Demko.

While exciting to hear, there are some Canucks fans who would choose to continue to ride rookie Arturs Silovs, a suggestion that would have seemed ridiculous just a couple of weeks ago.

With Silovs' strong play, the Canucks may have the luxury of resting Demko, but they'll soon have the tough decision to make between their star goalie and the rookie who has gotten them this far.
