The Vancouver Canucks return home for Game 5 tonight at Rogers Arena with an opportunity to eliminate the Nashville Predators and advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
It's been a bit of a revolving door between the pipes for the Vancouver Canucks in this first round series against Nashville. Thatcher Demko got the start in Game 1, before being deemed out for the remainder of the series with a suspected knee injury. Then, Casey DeSmith started Games 2 and 3.
DeSmith wasn't ruled out to return to potentially play in Game 5, but it appears that he won't be ready and according to Irfaan Gaffar, Arturs Silovs will get the nod between the pipes as the Canucks look to win the series over Nashville.
"Sounds like Artus Silovs will start game five for the Canucks." Gaffar said.
Silovs was solid for Vancouver in Game 4 on Sunday afternoon, making 27 saves on 30 shots as the Canucks picked up the victory in overtime thanks to a Brock Boeser hat trick and Elias Lindholm, who scored the winner.
Puck drop for tonight's Game 5 at Rogers Arena between the Canucks and Nashville Predators is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and can be viewed nationally across Canada.
