Riley Patterson steals the show at Canucks' dev camp: In between the legs goal
The Canucks are currently hosting their annual development camp. A one week event when their prospects and a few special invitees get to practice in the professional environment and work on their craft with NHL and AHL staff.
The camp features some of the Canucks' top prospect like Tom Willander and Sawyer Mynio, but one of the Canucks' most recent selection has been garnering lots of attention for his display of elevated skills. The Canucks' 125th pick in the 2024 draft Riley Patterson stole the show during the team's scrimmage today, scoring a beautiful between the legs goal.

The 18-year-old didn't stop there, he offered multiple offensive flash that had everyone on scene amazed by his level of skills and speed.

"Just gonna squeeze right by ya"
The scouting reports and Patterson's first impression under the Canucks' colour seem to corroborate, the Ontarien was just as advertised:
Patterson uses blazing crossovers and smooth puckhandling to attack the inside and catch the defence off-guard. Sometimes, he dangles through opponents before ripping a quick-release wrister.
- EliteProspects 2024 NHL Draft Guide
The young Patterson will be expected back in Vancouver for the team's rookie camp where he'll battle for a shot at the Canucks' main camp. He should then be sent back to the OHL's Barrie Colts where he spent the 2023-2024 season. He collected an impressive 62 points in 68 games and I'd expect him to improve those numbers during the upcoming campaign.
