Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser is not back with the team just yet, as they get set to face Arturs Silovs & the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night.
The Vancouver Canucks are back in action tonight as they look for their fourth win in a row as they take on a very familiar face - Arturs Silovs, who is getting the start in goal for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Ahead of Sunday's game in Washington, the Vancouver Canucks announced that Brock Boeser would not be playing due to personal reasons, with Patrik Allvin telling reporters yesterday that the 28-year-old could potentially return for Tuesday's contest.
"General Manager Patrick Allvin announced today that F Brock Boeser will not play today due to personal reasons." the Canucks said on Sunday.
Brock Boeser not at Tuesday's morning skate, unlikely to play vs Pittsburgh Penguins
As the Vancouver Canucks took to the ice this morning in Pittsburgh for their game day skate, there were a few new faces as Tom Willander, Nils Aman and Joseph LaBate were all in attendance after being called up to the big club on Monday.
Despite Patrik Allvin saying yesterday that Brock Boeser was a possibility for tonight's game, it doesn't look like he'll be suiting up, as Dan Murphy of Sportsnet said on social media that the Burnsville, Minnesota native was not on the ice for the team's morning skate ahead of tonight's game in Pittsburgh.
"Willander, Aman and Labate all present for #canucks morning skate. No Boeser or Blueger." Murphy said on X.
Boeser, who signed a new deal on July 1st to remain a Vancouver Canuck, has had a strong start to the 2025-26 season, registering three goals in five games, as well as the shootout winner last Friday against Connor Bedard & the Chicago Blackhawks.
With Boeser, along with Filip Chytil, Jonathan Lekkerimaki and potentially Teddy Blueger all out for tonight's game, the Vancouver Canucks are in for a tough test against Sidney Crosby's Pittsburgh Penguins.
These are the games where you need your big stars to show up, including Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes, but they're also going to need contributions from those who have just been called up from the AHL and are looking to prove they belong in the NHL on a full-time basis.
Everyone here at Canucks Daily is thinking about Brock Boeser at this time and hope himself, as well as his family, are doing well.
