The Vancouver Canucks organization has announced the signing of a 23-year-old blueliner on Monday who brings 4 years of OHL and 3 years of pro experience to the club.

Injury issues have caused a bit of ruckus all throughout the Vancouver Canucks organization from the big club in the NHL and both of their minor league affiliates - the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks and ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings.
After winning their first-ever Calder Cup title last season, things haven't gone so well for the Abbotsford Canucks, whether it be poor performances, which has the club last in the Pacific Division and Western Conference or injuries, which has forced them to bring in external help.
Last month, Abbotsford signed former New York Islanders forward Arnaud Durandeau to a professional tryout (PTO) and even brought back a member of last season's Calder Cup-winning team - Jujhar Khaira, and this week, the club is adding more reinforcements as they look to remain in the mix for a postseason spot early on in the 2025-26 season.

Vancouver Canucks organization announces signing of 23-year-old defenseman

In a press release on Monday, the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks announced that they've signed 23-year-old defenseman Jake Murray to a professional tryout (PTO) and have assigned Jayden Lee to the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL.
"Abbotsford Canucks General Manager, Ryan Johnson, announced today that the club has signed defenceman Jake Murray to a professional try-out agreement.

In a corresponding move, Johnson also announced that the Abbotsford Canucks have returned defencemen Jayden Lee on loan to Kalamazoo (ECHL)." the team said.

The Mississauga native spent four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kingston Frontenacs and Guelph Storm before making the jump to professional hockey at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
Most of Murray's professional hockey career to date has been spent in the ECHL, where he's made stops with the Cincinatti Cyclones, Idaho Steelheads, Bloomington Bison and Greenville Swamp Rabbits, the latter of whom signed him to a one-year deal this summer.
Murray is expected to be available for Manny Malhotra and his coaching staff on Tuesday night as the Abbotsford Canucks take on the San Jose Barracuda in the first game of a back-to-back before heading out on the road for six contests starting Saturday evening.
