The Vancouver Canucks organization has officially brought back a familiar face, and someone with over 300 games of NHL experience, after agreeing to terms on a contract.

Despite Vancouver sitting second in the Pacific Division and their AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, having a .500 record through four games, both clubs have been dealing with their fair share of injury issues and are hoping to keep their heads above water over the few weeks.
With General Manager Patrik Allvin having to call up a few players from Abbotsford in recent days, including forward Joseph LaBate and Nils Aman, the AHL club has began to explore external options to fill holes on their own roster.
Abbotsford signed forward Arnaud Durandeau to a professional tryout (PTO) this week and it looks like the team is bringing back a familiar face and a 2025 Calder Cup champion.

On Wednesday afternoon, Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali reported that the Abbotsford Canucks were in discussions with forward Jujhar Khaira about joining the team for a second season after becoming an unrestricted free agent following their Calder Cup triumph four months ago.
"Sounds like Abbotsford Canucks are talking with Cloverdale native snd forward Jujhar Khaira about re-joining the team." Dhaliwal said.
A short while later, Dhaliwal confirmed on social media that the Abbotsford Canucks and Jujhar Khaira have agreed to terms on a contract.
While details of the deal haven't been announced just yet, it's safe to assume it's a one-year deal for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.
"The Abbotsford Canucks have agreed to terms on a contract with Cloverdale native and F Jujhar Khaira.

Should be at practise tomorrow." Rick Dhaliwal said on X on Wednesday night.
Khaira, 31, was traded to the Vancouver Canucks organization in March of 2025 from the AHL's Syracuse Crunch, who he began the 2024-25 season with.
In 17 games with Abbotsford during the regular season, Khaira registered eight points (three goals, five assists), along with 16 penalty minutes and followed that up with nine points and 31 penalty minutes in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
It's unclear as to when Khaira may make his debut with the Abbotsford Canucks, but it could come as early as Friday night when the club raises their Calder Cup banner against the Ontario Reign.
