Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin has officially announced on Tuesday the club has re-signed former Nucks forward to a one-year, two-way contract after spending two seasons away from the NHL.
This offseason, the NHL has seen many former Vancouver Canucks players leaving the NHL to sign oversees either in Russia (KHL), Switzerland or Austria in order to continue their career when their prospects in the League are running thin.
Vancouver Canucks sign ex-forward Vitali Kravtsov
With all the departures away from the National hockey league, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon that the Vancouver Canucks are welcoming back Vitali Kravtsov, awarding him with a one-year, two-way contract after spending the last two seasons in the KHL with Chelyabinsk Traktor.
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the #Canucks have agreed to terms with F Vitali Kravtsov on a one-year, two-way contract.
With the lack of additions this offseason, the Canucks really needed to find a player that can step-up and make a difference in 2025-26, and Kravtsov can really be that winger if he brings over the production he showed last year in Russa.
In 66 games, the 25-year-old scored 27 goals and 31 assists for 58 points, putting him in the top 10 in goals and points for the entire KHL.
Kravtsov was under #Canucks control as an RFA.
Former top-10 pick by the NY Rangers. Played just 16 games in Vancouver before going back to Russia in 2023.
Big year in the KHL last season, 58 points (27-31-58) in 66 games. Ranked top 10 in goals and points league-wide.
There is a solid chance that Kravtsov will start in the AHL with the Abbotsford Canucks, but they really should strongly consider not doing so, especially for how thin they are up front with out a bonified second-line center.
