Sportsnet Floats Blockbuster Elias Pettersson Trade Between Vancouver Canucks & Montreal Canadiens

With all the trade rumors and speculation surrounding the Vancouver Canucks right now, for some reason, Elliotte Friedman is doing his best effort to send shockwaves across Vancouver with outlandish proposals.

Just a few days ago, Friedman made a surprise trade proposal involving the Vancouver Canucks considering trading their star forward Elias Pettersson to the Buffalo Sabres for Bowen Byram and Dylan Cozens.

Then, just 24 hours later proposed another trade that would send EP40 to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Right off the bat, we want to stress that this is purely a rumor or "mock proposal", that we here at Canucks Daily feel there is not chance of actually happening.

But, with all the drama surrounding the Canucks and Elias Pettersson, when these come out, it the duty to report all possibilities.

This time the rumor doesn't come from Sportsnet's Elliote Friedman, but Mike Futa from Sportsnet's The Fan Hockey Show, where he suggested Vancouver would trade Elias Pettersson and a 2nd round pick, for Cole Caufield, Christian Dvorak and David Savard.

Futa posted this as a poll on X (formally Twitter), and right off the bat you can tell that fans believe Vancouver would never in a million years make this deal, but on the other hand, Canadiens fans would want this to happen.

For Montreal, the deal makes sense as it secures them a bonified superstar down the middle of the ice for years to come. Losing Caufield would suck, but Pettersson is a proven star, and can provide more versatility.

In reality, there is no way in heck that this deal would ever be accepted by Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks.
