Surprising Turn of Events Regarding Vancouver Canucks Goalie Thatcher Demko Making a Full Return This Week
In a surprising turn of events, a new report has indicated that Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko is set to return to full team practice this week.
Every time a report or story comes out about Demko, it feels like it is a "Bigfoot Sighting", as he has been training and skating on his own, but many fans are waiting patiently to see him have his first skate with the entire team.
TSN's Darren Dreger went on the Sekeres and Price Podcast to discuss the Vancouver Canucks and when fans can expect to see Thatcher Demo back. He released that he is hearing from his sources that the hope is he will be back in a normal practice setting at some point this week.
He has been skating, and he has been taking shots, but he hasn't practiced with a full group, and the hope is that Thatcher will return to the full team practice tat some point this week.
He continued to report that once he has that first practice, then it is appropriate to start talking about what Demko's status will be moving forward, whether he will be day-to-day or week-to-week.
You start looking at a countdown. Now, are we talking several days? Are we still talking in the week to week category? One thing we know here is that it's been pretty evident that the Vancouver Canucks are not going to push Thatcher Demko. They don't really feel like they need to. He's been working his ''you know what'' off in the background to make sure that the problem that he has isn't going to develop into a bigger problem down the road.
It has become a massive relief that the pressure to get Demko back is not immediate as offseason signee Kevin Lankinen has been dominating in net for the Canucks this season. Lankinen has a 5-0-2 record, with a 2.25 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.
