Ray Ferraro Has Season Changing Prediction About Vancouver Canucks Star Elias Pettersson

There was a lot of talk about him looking stronger, faster and ready to have a big season,, and we haven't seen any of that to date.

Ferraro's comments stem from more than just a slow start. The Canucks lack strength down the middle and Pettersson, the highest paid player in the organization, is expected to be their top center. If he can't rediscover his form, Ferraro argues, the team's fate could already be sealed. He noted that Pettersson showed energy during training camp, but that during the game "it just disappears", as if he is overwhelmed and not his usual self.

Ferraro even drew a comparison to Dallas' Wyatt Johnston, who manages to make meaningful contributions despite lacking overwhelming physical tools, implying Pettersson ought to be producing given his talent, salary and role. He was blunt: fans in Vancouver might panic, as even solid goaltending or depth won't matter if your number 1 center cannot deliver.

It has only been three games to start the season, but Pettersson's first impression has not been a good one. If he continues down this path the Canucks make need to look into moving on from him, if they can even move his salary.
