June 22nd, 2019, is one of those days. Jim Benning pulled a transaction with the Tampa Bay Lightning that could end up going down in history as the biggest Canucks trade steal. The Canucks ended up giving up three draft picks for a young 26-year-old forward who had not broken out yet.
Just like his potential suggested, he flourished into the Canucks' top scorer ever since he stepped foot in Vancouver. As he now leads the Canucks through the second round, a former teammate of his, Brandon Sutter addressed how he change the mood for the Canucks and how good of a player he is for them at the moment:
