A pair of Vancouver Canucks forwards will be back in action in the coming weeks as they've been named to their nation's roster for the 2025 IIHF World Championship.

While the Vancouver Canucks might not be participating in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this spring, fans will still be able to see their favourite players in action on the international stage.
Late last week, it was announced that Filip Hronek will be playing for Czechia at the 2025 IIHF World Championship and now, two more Canucks will be heading overseas for the tournament.

After Vancouver was officially elimination from playoff contention, a report came out saying that Quinn Hughes and Thatcher Demko would not be participating at the IIHF World Championship next month, but it looks like Vancouver will still be well represented on the United States' roster.
On Thursday, USA Hockey announced the first 18 players that will make up their roster for the tournament, with some spots still open for those who will be eliminated from the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Among those on the United States' roster for the IIHF World Championship are Vancouver Canucks forwards Conor Garland and Drew O'Connor.
The United States also managed to land a couple big names as well with Utah Hockey Club captain Clayton Keller and Boston Bruins netminder Jeremy Swayman on the roster as they look to boost their chances of being apart of the Olympic team in Italy next February.
"We really like our team. We have a group with significant international experience and I know our players are excited about representing our country on the world stage and competing for a gold medal." USA General Manager Jeff Kealty said.

This year's World Championship will mark the third time Conor Garland has represented his nation, helping them win a bronze medal at the 2021 tournament and a fourth place finish two years ago.
As for Drew O'Connor, who signed an extension with Vancouver a couple weeks after being dealt to the club, he's only played for the United States once, that came at the 2023 World Championship with Conor Garland.
At the 2023 IIHF World Championship, the Chatham, New Jersey native was outstanding, registering eight points (three goals, five assists) in ten games.
Garland, O'Connor and the rest of the United States roster will head to Germany for their training camp starting on May 2nd and will face the Germans in a pre-tournament game two days later.
The United States will open up their World Championship schedule on Friday, May 9th against the co-hosts, Denmark, with puck drop set for 11:20 am PT on TSN.
