The Vancouver Canucks are set to play their first post-holiday break game today against the Seattle Kraken, and head coach Rick Tocchet will be debuting a brand new lineup that has fans shaking their heads.
Tocchet was asked if the Pettersson and Hughes injuries were long-term:
"It's hard to speculate. I don't know if it's day to day or week to week. They're going to go see their people." - Rick Tocchet
Even though the team nor Tocchet has commented on the details of the injury, and how long he will be out, having Hughes out of the lineup is a major blow, but it is needed to not further aggrivate the injuries.
"Especially with a guy like Hughes, I don't think you want to put him in situations where he could really get hurt," said Tocchet. "I don't think you want to do that with any player. You've got to be careful of that."
Vancouver Canucks Projected Lineup Vs the Seattle Kraken
The biggest aspect of the Canucks that will be tested today will be the defence, with both Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek out, Derek Forbort and Tyler Myers are going to need to step up there game big time on the first pairing.
