Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes missed the team's practice on Thursday and is reportedly questionable for Friday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Injuries continue to decimate the Vancouver Canucks' with goaltender Thatcher Demko will reportedly miss the next two-to-three weeks with a groin injury.
"Some (relatively) positive news for #Canucks on Thatcher Demko this morning. Early indication is that Demko is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a minor injury.

It's unrelated to his previous knee injury and unrelated to why Demko took maintenance days last week." Frank Seravalli said.

Demko joins Teddy Blueger, Filip Chytil, Derek Forbort and Victor Mancini on the sidelines and it appears that the Vancouver Canucks may also be dealing with an injury to their captain and best player, Quinn Hughes.

The Vancouver Canucks hit the ice on Thursday for the first practice of their three-game road trip and according to Dan Murphy of Sportsnet, captain Quinn Hughes was not in attendance, with Marcus Pettersson taking his spot on the top pairing alongside Filip Hronek.
Also not on the ice today was forward Drew O'Connor, with it later being reported that the Chatham, New Jersey native was feeling under the weather.
"Unless my eyes deceive me, no Quinn Hughes or DOC on ice for #canucks skate at Hurricanes practice facility.

After practice, Murphy reported that Quinn Hughes is currently listed as day-to-day and his status for tomorrow night's game against the Carolina Hurricanes is to be determined.
"Hughes is day to day. Status for tomorrow night TBA. DOC needed a sick day." Murphy said.
Hughes, a native of Orlando, Florida, briefly exited Tuesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets after getting tangled up with Mark Scheifele, but thankfully returned to the ice just a few minutes later.
With Quinn Hughes not on the ice today, it's clear that he's still feeling the effects from Tuesday night and as the Canucks gear up for three games in four nights including a back-to-back on Sunday & Monday, it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone if the 26-year-old sits out tomorrow's game against the Hurricanes.
