A completed trade involving the Vancouver Canucks sending over J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers could be proving already to be the right move considering the statistic since he has left the team.
Was trading J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers the right move?
After months and moths of trade speculation that either Miller or
Elias Pettersson would be traded due to personal issues that were unable to get resolved, the Canucks ultimately decided to keep the younger Elias Pettersson.
There have mixed opinion on the traded, some saying they should have traded Elias Pettersson instead of Miller.
Elias Pettersson has recorded just one point in 4 games while Miller has excelled with the Rangers, tallying two goals and two assists over the same period.
As stated, Pettersson may not be excelling, but the team definitely is.
Vancouver since trading J.T. Miller:
- 3-0-1 record
- 59.83 xGF% (4th in NHL)
- shutout Colorado 3-0
- beat Toronto 2-1
- Hronek is point/game
- Hughes has been injured the entire time
Maybe J.T. Miller was the right guy to trade?
At the end of the day, Miller was not happy in Vancouver and wanted a change of scenery, so regardless of the Pettersson's or his production, it was not going to work out long-term anyway.
