Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has a big decision to make when it comes to their top prospect and 202 2 first round pick Jonathan Lekkerimaki.

Over the last month and a half, the Vancouver Canucks have made countless roster moves, but unfortunately, Jonathan Lekkerimaki has been on the outside looking in despite his strong performances down in the American Hockey League.
In early December, the Canucks assigned Jonathan Lekkerimaki to Abbotsford of the AHL in order to play meaningful minutes and in a big role and so far, that decision by Patrik Allvin has worked wonders for the team's top prospect.
However, with the Canucks looking to get younger amid their plans to rebuild, the team is going to need to make a big decision with the Swedish winger in the near future.

Vancouver Canucks need to make big decision with top prospect Jonathan Lekkerimaki

On Saturday night, the Abbotsford Canucks, who sit at the bottom of the league's Pacific Division, were looking for their second consecutive win as they opened up a back-to-back against the San Diego Gulls, AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks.
Just over halfway through the first period, Jonathan Lekkerimaki opened up the scoring with a strong wrister past the glove of Gulls netminder Calle Clang, giving him ten goals on the season.
"That's 10 goals in 15 games for Jonathan Lekkerimäki down with the #AbbyCanucks this season! 🎯 "
According to Dave Hall of Canucks Army, with his goal last night, Jonathan Lekkerimaki has moved into 11th place on the Abbotsford Canucks' all-time goals list with 30 in 57 games.
"In just 57 games, Jonathan Lekkerimäki moves into 11th on Abbotsford Canucks' all-time goal list (30).

Linus Karlsson leads the franchise with 70 goals in 164 games. #Canucks" Hall said on X.
Lekkerimaki's strong play since being sent down to Abbotsford in December shouldn't go unnoticed as he's showing everyone what he's capable of and why the Vancouver Canucks made the right decision to select him with the 15th overall pick in 2022.
We'll have to wait and see what transpires between now and the NHL's trade deadline in March, if the Vancouver Canucks move any more players out, but General Manager Patrik Allvin needs to call up Jonathan Lekkerimaki soon and not just to sit in the press box or in a fourth line role, he should be getting top-six minutes.
