Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser will remain with the organization at least until the end of the 2024-25 season after not being dealt by the team on Friday.
The National Hockey League's trade deadline came and went yesterday with the Vancouver Canucks not making a single move and decided
decided to hold onto pending unrestricted free agent forward Brock Boeser.
Patrik Allvin told reporters on Friday afternoon that they wouldn't believe him if he shared what the offers were for Brock Boeser, adding that the value just wasn't there to make it worthwhile for the organization to trade him.
Brock Boeser speaks after not being traded at NHL's deadline
After Friday's win over the Minnesota Wild, Brock Boeser spoke with the media where the biggest question was about him not being traded by the club.
Boeser said that he saw Patrik Allvin's comments about not being able to move him prior to 12 pm PT yesterday and will speak about it with the GM in the coming days, but isn't reading into it too much
The 28-year-old also said that he's been very loyal to the Vancouver Canucks organization since making the jump to the National Hockey League and remains open to signing a contract extension in the coming months.
"Boeser told me & @risingaction post game that he did read Allvin's comments about the trade market for him & hasn't really processed all of it. Reemphasized how loyal he has been to #Canucks over the years & was more focused being better in tonight's game. Expects he'll speak to Allvin about it in the days ahead & is trying not to read too much into it. Is still open to an extension." TSN's Farhan Lalji said on X.
Some fans weren't too happy with Patrik Allvin's comments about not being able to move Brock Boeser, which is understandable depending on which way you want to interpret them.
It seems like Patrik Allvin was trying to say that the organization values Brock Boeser quite highly that they didn't want to move him for a very small return that wouldn't help them in the short and long-term future and that's okay.
There's always a chance between now and July 1st that the two sides can sit down and hammer out a contract extension, with each party
likely needing to compromise a bit here - Canucks need to go beyond six years, while Boeser might need to accept $8 million AAV.
