Vancouver Canucks' head coach Rick Tocchet's Discloses Wild Birthday Story with Hockey Legend Jaromir Jagr
Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet has shared a hilarious story about a birthday party back in the day with hockey legend Jaromir Jagr.
Rick Tocchet, Vancouver's head coach, and Jaromir Jagr were teammates back in the early 1990s with the Pittsburgh Penguins, spending parts of three seasons together and even winning the Stanley Cup in 1992.
As everyone knows, Jaromir Jagr has his fair share of hilarious stories from his career, but recently, Rick Tocchet shared one about his former teammate and it's safe to say this one is pretty wild.
Jaromir Jagr invites hundreds of women to his birthday party
While the two were teammates, Rick Tocchet and the rest of the Pittsburgh Penguins were invited to one of Jaromir Jagr's birthday parties. Tocchet said that it was quite the big party, with around 900 people there and he found it pretty funny that of the 900 in attendance, 875 were women.
"I always tell the story, at his birthday party and we had some guys that were married, so they'd go to it and I was single at the time and I went to it, must've been 900 people. I think it was 875 girls." Tocchet said.
Rick Tocchet would love to have Jaromir Jagr in Vancouver
Back in September after it was revealed that this was likely Jaromir Jagr's last season of professional hockey, Rick Tocchet mentioned that he'd love to have his former teammate join the Vancouver Canucks, potentially as a coach/off-ice role.
"He loves the game of hockey," Tocchet said. "I would love for him to come back here and somehow get back in the game as a teacher or a coach or somebody like that.''
He added, "There's a lot of former guys that you'd love to pick their brains and even hire them and stuff like that. Who knows, down the road, maybe Jagr would be he'd be definitely a guy who, if he's interested, I'd be knocking on his door, I'll tell you that."
The experience that Jaromir Jagr would bring to the Vancouver Canucks as a coach or in an off-ice role would be incredible for the organization. He would be able to help teach the team's roster and prospects how to take an even bigger step in their career and help grow their game. When Jagr officially hangs up the skates, it's something the Vancouver Canucks should definitely consider.
