Vancouver Canucks Named Possible Destination for Sidney Crosby As Trade Talks Heat Up

With all the high profile chatter about Sidney Crosby's future with the Pittsburgh Penguins, we explore what the chances are he comes to the Vancouver Canucks if he were to be traded.
During a recent interview on BPM Sports, Anthony Marcotte made some mighty big predictions, stating that he firmly believes the L.A. Kings and the Colorado Avalanche are the top two teams legend Sidney Crosby may go to if he is dealt by the Penguins.
"If he leaves Pittsburgh, it will be for the Avalanche or the Kings."

Is there any real chance that Pittsburgh Penguins Legend Sidney Crosby is traded to the Vancouver Canucks?
The obvious choice for Crosby would be to stay with the Penguins, but with his connection to fellow Nova Scotian and close friend Nathan MacKinnon, the Avalanche would be the clear destination.
But is there any way he considers the Canucks?
Penguins GM Pat Brisson made it clear enough that if Crosby were to leave Pittsburgh, it would be for the chance to end his career with a contender, and where the Canucks are at, they will need to turn things around by the deadline in order to prove that they are a viable destination.
Therefore, the Canucks would need to be having a very good start to 2025-26 for this to even start being possible. Think the kind of start they had in 2023-24, where they soared to the top of the division and regularly beat the league's best and brightest. That, bare minimum, is what it would take for a Crosby trade to even enter the realm of doable.
The biggest factor that could make the impossible be somewhat possible is the connection Crosby has with his former GM and current Canucks President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford.
There's the established relationship with Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin. Rutherford was Crosby's GM from 2015 through 2021, including back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships in 2015-16 and 2016-17
At the end of the day, Crosby's fate with the Canucks seems unlikely but not totally out of the question.
