Vancouver Canucks Suddenly Add Promising Young Star From Boston University To Their Prospect Pool
The Vancouver Canucks have invited an undrafted Boston University commit to their 2025 Development Camp, which is set to get underway in a matter of days.
Next up for those players that the Vancouver Canucks drafted this weekend, along with others in the team's prospect pool, is the 2025 Development Camp and it appears that the club has invited a winger from the QMJHL who is heading to the NCAA in 2026.
Vancouver Canucks invite Boston University commit to Development Camp
Shortly after the NHL Entry Draft came to a close, the Saint John Sea Dogs, who play in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League announced that forward
Zachary Morin will be attending the Vancouver Canucks' Development Camp this week in British Columbia.
"Heading out west 🔜
#SJSeaDogs forward Zach Morin has been invited to the Vancouver Canucks Development Camp!" the Sea Dogs said.
The Lachenaie, Quebec native joined the Saint John Sea Dogs a few weeks into the 2024-25 season after an announcement was made about changes coming to the CHL-NCAA agreement and he played quite well in his rookie campaign in the QMJHL, registering 36 points (16 goals, 20 assists), 21 penalty minutes and was a minus-15 in 56 games.
"Zachary Morin is heading to the #Canucks development camp per his QMJHL club.
Morin is a 6-foot-2 wing we ranked 105th. There was hype before the season that he'd be a pick, but he had a down year.
He's a low-paced creator, but his tools are pretty strong." Daniel Gee of Elite Prospects & Canucks Army said on X.
According to Elite Prospects, Zachary Morin isn't committed to join Boston University in the NCAA until the 2026-27 campaign, so he'll be returning to Saint John this fall.
Even if he has a very strong showing at Development Camp this week, there's almost a zero percent chance that the Canucks will sign Zachary Morin to an entry-level contract as it would void his college eligibility, however he is a player that Vancouver could target in next year's draft, if they like what they see this coming season with the Sea Dogs.
