Vancouver Canucks Under Fire For Seriously Mishandling J.T. Miller's Leave of Absence
As management calls out the media for continued speculation and rumors running rampant surrounding Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller, it is the teams fault for letting it get out of hand.
In a recent press release by Vancouver Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford, he has taken exception to all the trade rumors that have been circulating while J.T. Miller has been on his leave of absence.
Rutherford caught a win of ugly rumors that he was ready to leave the team and quit on the group. There was even a rumor making the rounds about Miller's intensity and anger management issues. Rutherford was appalled, telling the media, «just go back to making up trade rumours.» - J-m Parsons
In all fairness, the trades and speculation have gotten out of hand, but the team has done an awful job and controlling the narrative by staying silent for this long.
Vancouver Canucks messed up how they handles the rumors and speculation surrounding J.T. Miller
Jim Rutherford was appalled at media outlets and reporters for speculating and making up scenarios for the reason of him stepping away, but why did the team wait so long to comment on it?
After the Vancouver Canucks concluded their 6-game road trip on Tuesday with out their star forward, almost two weeks went by with the team not making a statement to clear up any rumors surrounding Miller.
The public relations team for the Canucks has really done a terrible job, and if anything added fuel to the fire for these rumors and stories to continue to circulate.
Jim Rutherford never should have even had to release a big statement as he did, if their social media or PR team was able to just nip it in the bud sooner rather than later.
The good news that has come from all of this is that the Canucks are not trading their veteran leader, and with reports of Miller back skating with the team, fans can expect his return to the lineup in the next couple of games.
