Verdict is in for the Canucks and Zadorov's potential replacement Brenden Dillon
The verdict is in for the Vancouver Canucks and Nikita Zadorov's potential replacement, Brenden Dillon.
As the Vancouver Canucks search for a replacement for defenceman Nikita Zadorov, fans can cross one name off their list and it's someone the team has been interested in for a while.
According to Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali, the Vancouver Canucks have interest in Brendan Dillon, but as of Saturday, it seems like he won't be heading to his home province and will be signing elsewhere on Monday at 12 pm ET.
"For those asking about Brenden Dillon, lots of teams including the Canucks have interest in Dillon but unless something changes, as of right now, doesn't sound like he will be signing in Vancouver." Dhaliwal said.
Dillon, 33, has spent the last three seasons with the Winnipeg Jets and in 77 games this year, the New Westminster native had 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists), 92 penalty minutes and was a plus-20. He added three assists in three Stanley Cup Playoff games before suffering a cut to his hand in the first round against Colorado.
Patrik Allvin and his management group will have to turn their attention elsewhere on Monday in free agency and while may disappointing that as of now that Dillon won't be returning to his home province, there's no doubt the Canucks will land a solid blueliner for their top-four in the coming days.
