Now, an intriguing new team has entered the mix for Rick Tocchet. On Monday's episode of Donnie & Dhali, Rick Dhaliwal reported that the Colorado Avalanche could be a potential landing spot for the former Canucks head coach.

Dylan Nazareth from the Canucks Army writes that Jared Bednar has led the Avalanche since taking over from Patrick Roy in August 2016, but after Colorado's collapse in Game 7 against the Dallas Stars and another early playoff exit, there's growing speculation that his job could be at risk.
"He coached the team to eight consecutive playoff appearances in nine years, including the franchise's third Stanley Cup in 2022. Since that championship run, they have failed to pass the second round. Bednar is currently the second-longest tenured head coach in the NHL, behind only Jon Cooper of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who has been with the team since 2013." -Nazareth
Should the position become available in Colorado, Tocchet would likely be a top contender. However, that possibility seems at odds with Jim Rutherford's earlier remarks suggesting Tocchet wanted to return East to be nearer to family. Tocchet is currently keeping all of his options on the table.
