The Vancouver Canucks have officially announced a big change that will be coming to Rogers Arena in time for the start of the 2025-26 NHL season.
Vancouver Canucks fans are hoping to see some changes heading into next season, especially with the team's roster as they look to make it back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
While roster decisions are still a little ways away, the team has confirmed some other changes that fans will notice in the fall
following reports back in late March.
Vancouver Canucks officially announce new seats coming to Rogers Arena
In a letter sent to season ticket holders in March regarding their seats for the 2025-26 campaign, the Vancouver Canucks revealed that there will be new seats coming to Rogers Arena in the fall.
"We are hosting this event earlier in the year compared to previous seasons due to the organization's mission to begin the process of replacing the seats at Rogers Arena immediately following the conclusion of the Canucks season, during which time our team will have extremely limited access to the seating bowl due to construction" the team said back in March.
It was out with the old and in with the new start on Tuesday as Adam Kiersznblat of The Hockey News shared a picture from a friend on social media that showed workers inside Rogers Arena installing the new black seats, replacing the maroon one that the team has had since opening nearly 30 years ago.
"Was sent this photo by a friend. Looks like new seats are being installed at Rogers Arena. The arena only has one event scheduled this month, which is Rock Stars On Ice scheduled for May 13." Kiersznblat said on X.
Shortly after, the Vancouver Canucks confirmed the news that installation of their new black seats - which feature cup holders and the team's logo - have begun.
"Changes are coming to @RogersArena." the Canucks said on X.
After
it was revealed that the team is increasing the price of season tickets, it's good to see that money is being invested back into the club to make the arena and start to look a bit more modern.
As of May 2025, Rogers Arena is the eighth-oldest rink in the entire National Hockey League and second-oldest among Canadian teams, with Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome opening 12 years prior.
