Capitals D-Man Alex Alexeyev Arrested and Pepper-sprayed By Authorities in Intense Physical Altercation

A surpassing but disappointing development has just occurred in Arlington, Virginia as Washington Capitals defenseman Alex Alexeyev was involved in a physical incident with police.
Things can't get much worse for the Washington Capitals as they were just eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, in a year where Captain Alex Ovechkin was looking to top off a historic season.
Unfortunately, instead of the season kicking off on a good note, the exact opposite has occurred.
Washington Capitals defenseman Alex Alexeyev arrested in Virginia
According to the Arlington County Police Departments communications specialist, it was confirmed that young d-man Aleksandr Alexeyev was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication.
Apparently he was out early in the morning and got into a physical alternation with authorities, where they proceeded to pepper-spray him and subsequently arrest him.
At approximately 3:26 a.m. on May 17, officers on patrol in the 3100 block of Clarendon Boulevard were flagged down by a witness who reported an active fight outside of a business,» Daniell said. «Officers subsequently observed the male suspect involved in a physical altercation with the male subject.
As officers approached, the male suspect assaulted the male subject, and one officer deployed pepper spray as he was taken into custody. The suspect was treated on scene by medics for pepper spray exposure.
With only playing 8 games for the Capitals during the regular season, an injury to their blue line saw him forced to come in, appearing in all 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games, averting just over ten minutes of ice time.
Things clear not a good look for Washington, but you can best believe they will be handling it in house.
