LATEST | The Canucks have added a monstrous 6'6'' winger
The 2023 NHL Entry Draft took place earlier this week and the Canucks came out of it with 7 new prospects to add to their pipeline, headlined by 11th overall pick Tom Willander.
Vancouver held the 107th overall pick in the fourth round and used it to selected Vilmer Alriksson who played for Djurgardens JR in the Swedish Junior League.
Alriksson is a big winger standing at 6'6", who has good hands and plays a similar style to Detroit Red Wings forward and fellow Swede, Elmer Soderblom.
He finished the season by putting up 21 points (12 goals, nine assists), 22 penalty minutes and was a plus-one in 43 games. The expectation is that he will play with Djurgardens in the Swedish Hockey League for at least a good chunk of the 2023-24 season, as well as their junior team.
