LATEST | The worst is confirmed for Connor Bedard and Vancouver: Star youngster to miss significant time
The Blackhawks were playing the Devils a day before the Canucks. The young hockey phenom Connor Bedard got hit by Brendan Smith. Bedard immediately left the ice in pain and as you'd expect Nick Foligno made Smith pay for his actions moments later.
BLACKHAWKS CONFIRM THE EXTENT OF HIS INJURY
It appears that Bedard was caught off-guard and got hit in the head. The Hawks confirmed that Bedard had been moved to the Injury Reserve with a broken jaw:
UPDATE: We have placed Connor Bedard (fractured jaw) and Nick Foligno (fractured left finger) on injured reserve.
BAD NEWS FOR VANCOUVER AND THE YOUNGSTER?
Connor Bedard was just about to play his first game in Vancouver as the Hawks were schedule to play the Canucks on the 22nd. This injury most likely means he'll be out of business for the event and probably the All-Star Weekend that will be held during the first week-end of February.
