MAJOR | NHL Player Safety hands Flames forward laughable suspension after a dirty cross-check
The Flames and the Kraken were in the midst of a very spirited game when Andrew Mangiapanne handed the former Canuck Jared McCann a vicious cross-check.
The Flames' player was immediately thrown out and the league announced earlier today that he'd be getting an hearing. The Player Safety department finally came through with their official announcement:
''Calgary's Andrew Mangiapane has been suspended for one game for Cross-checking Seattle's Jared McCann.'' The expectations were that he would be getting a much bigger suspension. Perhaps, Mangiapanne's history was taken into account since he's not yet a repeated offender.
