Canucks forward Dakota Joshua is having a breaking season with 13 goals and 13 assists through 56 games — both career-highs. He notched a goal and two assists Thursday night against the Chicago Blackhawks but unfortunately left the game with what was described as an upper-body injury. He had been held pointless in the previous seven games.

Joshua, 27, had been the center of potential contract extension rumours due to his stellar play this season. With this injury, however, he is poised to miss an extended period.

Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com reported that the Michigan native was considered "week-to-week" after being ruled out for Saturday's matchup with the Winnipeg Jets. He is now poised to miss at least a few more.

Mikheyev was promoted to the Good Job Boys line during Joshua's absence. Hopefully, Dakota doesn't miss too much time as the Canucks needs the entirety of his line to perform their best.
