Bo Horvat has been a workhorse since 2014 when he came to the Vancouver Canucks in his rookie season. A 1st round, 9th overall draft pick in the 2013 NHL Draft by Vancouver, he has proven he can be the leader the Canucks were looking for.

It's taken time, but his hard work and determination have amounted into a blazing start to the season for him with only Connor McDavid besting him in the goal scoring race.
It's just too bad the Vancouver Canucks can't afford to re-sign him at this point in time.
If Horvat keeps his scoring pace up, he'll be signing a contract over $8 million dollars next summer. The Canucks currently have a cap space of $1.677 million according to capfriendly.com. Bo Horvat's contract is over at the end of this season and is a current cap hit of $5.5 million dollars.
Rumors have been swirling that the Carolina Hurricanes are looking to replace Jesperi Kotkaniemi as their 2nd line centre. If that's true, Bo Horvat would be a perfect trade candidate for the Stanley Cup contenders. Seeing as the Canucks are already off to a worse start than last season when Travis Green was the head coach, it wouldn't hurt to compile more draft picks and accept the rebuild.
