The officiating in this year's playoffs has called for lots of controversies and last night was no different. At the end of the day, the Leafs lost and probably would've lost if the correct calls had been made.
Moments prior to the end of the period a blatant non-call set the controversy in Toronto, Marc Stall obliterated Mitch Marner who caught an elbow while the puck was not even in play. Players have been suspended for reverse hits of this sort when the puck WAS in play, no calls were made even though the puck was nowhere near the event.
The play that's causing a stir around the NHL is the tiebreaker that ended the Leafs' season. Nick Cousins made a great when he pulled the puck to the middle and ripped it past the rookie Joseph Woll. This new angle, however, clearly shows that Radko Gudas stepped in and grabbed Calle Joarnkrok's stick in order to prevent him from properly defending Cousins' attack:
At this point, the Leafs' are hitting the golf course, the fans on their hand are screaming injustice.
