LATEST | Big development regarding Milan Lucic and the Canucks
According to Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK TV, the Vancouver Canucks are No longer in the mix for unrestricted free agent forward Milan Lucic.
"UFA Milan Lucic continues to talk with teams.
The Canucks are no longer in the mix." Dhaliwal said in a tweet on Monday.
Lucic, a native of Vancouver, had expressed interest in playing for the Canucks last month and would listen to what the organization had to say when he hit the market this summer, but it appears that he'll be signing elsewhere.
The 35-year-old had 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists), 43 penalty minutes and was a minus-13 in 77 games. After the season, he was named to Canada's roster for the 2023 World Championship, which would mark the first time he ever played for his country. He finished the tournament with four points in ten games, as Canada took home the gold medal.
Are you disappointed that the Canucks won't be bringing Lucic in to play for his hometown team? Let us know your thoughts in the poll below.
