There's been rumblings that Thatcher Demko was unsatisfied with his situation in Vancouver. The netminder had been out with an injury since December 4th and he hadn't been performing up to his standard before them.
It's Fahran Lalji, the TSN reporter, that broke the news stating that Demko wanted out of Vancouver.
Today Demko renewed with his teammates for practice and took the stage after practice to hear the mediatic music. He addressed the rumors and denied everything and even stated that it pissed him off:
"You know, it was a little frustrating for me, I'm not even here to defend myself, you know, talking to you guys. I'm on the sidelines and I start to see that stuff popping up but you it's not true. I'll just say that point blank. I've never said that not even to my wife."
Demko surely looked like a guy that was happy to renew with the action, since he's preparing to get back in the game. He previewed to be Delia's backup only on Saturday. It's definitely good to know that the franchise netminder doesn't wish to part ways with the team, knowing how difficult it is to find a quality netminder.
The Canucks certainly are out of playoffs contention this year, though with Demko back between the pipes. Can they hope to build better foundations for the next year and render better results than a 6-1 loss to the Red Wings?
