LATEST | Former Canuck named to Team Canada roster
Team Canada has announced its roster for the 2023 Spengler Cup, beginning on Boxing Day in Davos, Switzerland.
Several former NHL players highlight the squad, coached by longtime NHL bench boss Bruce Boudreau. Among the former NHLers is Canucks alumnus Jordie Benn, who spent parts of two seasons in Vancouver from 2019-2021. He is currently playing for Brynas IF in Sweden's top league.
Other notable names include Abbotsford, BC native Derek Grant, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defender Ty Smith, and World Junior gold medalist Thomas Milic.
At 36 years old, Benn is the oldest member of this year's Canadian squad. The Victoria, BC native has not yet represented Canada internationally.
